Blue Milk's Star Wars Celebration 2022 exclusive The Vintage Collection Archive Edition book with The Empire Strikes Back-inspired slipcase is now available for purchase for non-attendees.
Designed after the classic Kenner The Empire Strikes Back action figure collector's case released in 1981, the slipcase has a magnetically clasping flap and an individually numbered, metal "handle" engraved with an edition size limited to 250. The slipcase opens to reveal a tan-colored interior and a specially created "figure tray" insert to add to the authenticity.
"We originally planned this slipcase as an exclusive for Celebration in 2020 to celebrate Empire's 40th anniversary,” said Blue Milk Co-Founder D. Martin Myatt. "With Celebration delayed by two years because of COVID-19, things came full-circle this year and we’re thrilled to be able to offer the limited-edition slipcase with all its extras.”
Each slipcase set comes packed with the Star Wars: The Vintage Collection Archive Edition book; nameplate hand-signed by the team including authors Rich Alot, D. Martin Myatt and Derryl DePriest, and special contributor Steve Sansweet; action figure bookmark; folio with ten 8x10 art prints of the book's chapter break photos; a folded 18x22-inch poster by former Kenner photographer Kim Simmons reimagining the reverse-side of the 1984 "Star Wars is Forever" mail-away poster; and, as a bonus, a free a set of gold coins in a commemorative holder.
